#OurMission

Compassionately reaching out to nourish and meet the physical needs of the underserved and overburdened.

Volunteer

Volunteers is what makes us!

Feeding Denver's Hungry is comprised 100% of Volunteers from the Community. Our Board Members are all Volunteers, just like everyone that you will encounter and meet. In fact, the person that is designing the website for us, he is also a Volunteer.

We know that everyone is not able to Volunteer with manual tasks for many different (personal) reasons. There are far much more that one can do for Volunteering with us and helping us push forward.

If you would like to Volunteer but unable to perform manual tasks, please complete the  normal Volunteer form and in the special notes, let us know you are able to Volunteer and help us keep moving forward.

Volunteer Tasks

When a Volunteer signs up for a certain days, they will be asked to perform many tasks in regards to the event that a Volunteer signed up for.

Some of the tasks may be, but not limited to,
  • Lifting up to 50lbs
  • Carrying items up to 25lbs
  • Stocking Shelves
  • Packing Boxes
  • Cleaning
  • Unload Delivery Trucks
  • Helping Shoppers and Visitors load their vehicles
  • and many more tasks that we perform

Safety Measures

Feeding Denver's Hungry has put some Safety Measures in place to help all of our Volunteers and Visitors to stay safe. We ask that all Volunteers and Visitors to please follow these Safety Measures:
  • No Open Toed Shoes
  • Minimal loose garments such as shirts, jackets, scarfs and sweaters
  • No one under the age of 16 years of age may volunteer at the warehouse

Special Event Locations

Throughout the year, Feeding Denver's Hungry may be invited to help with Fund Raising Events. When we help with these events, we do receive a portion of their collections. While Volunteering at these fund raising events, we must follow their rules and regulations.

Please check the home page of our website advertising the event, their website and/or the Social Media Event Page for details.

Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability Declaration

Feeding Denver's Hungry requires all Volunteers to read the "Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability Declaration" page.

The Volunteer Release and Waiver of Liability Declaration helps you understand what to expect from us and what we expect of our Volunteers to help maintain a Safe and Welcoming Place for all of Volunteers and Visitors.

This also helps us stay in the clear in the event that someone shall get injured while they are Volunteering with Feeding Denver's Hungry.

Showcasing our Volunteers

Feeding Denver's Hungry is made up 100% of Volunteers. Since we are Volunteer based and ran, we like to showcase our Volunteers. We ask that our regular Volunteers to visit the Volunteer Bio Form page and complete the information along with sending a picture. Every weekend, when our web master updates the website, he will update the Our Volunteers page with your information.

Community Service Volunteerism

Community Service is not always a Court Appointed reason of why someone performs Community Service. There are several reasons why a person may perform Community Service. Feeding Denver's Hungry has partnered with multiple agencies and companies within the Denver Metro Area to allow your Volunteerism Time to count towards the different requirements needed for performing Community Service. We understand that there may be a unique reason why someone will need to perform such Community Service.

If you are in need for us to sign-off on your Community Service requirement, meet with Jim directly in private. He may ask some verifying questions.  Rest assured, whatever you discuss with Jim will stay in confidence with him and not shared with any of the other Volunteers.
